Recognition

Recognition

Our Approach to Recognition

We believe that the market is the best judge of the value of the eLearn Campus approach. We want the eLearn Campus name to be synonymous with quality in the minds of our learners. We want the ultimate recognition of our program to be acceptance and endorsement by the marketplace (see some our client testimonials).

But we also want to work with like-minded institutions to expand the recognition of the eLearn Campus Certificate in eLearning Management, and to offer our learners as much flexibility as possible as they pursue their lifelong learning goals.

Our learners have also told us they would like to see the eLearn Campus program recognized because:

  • Third-party recognition is sometimes a requirement for reimbursement from employee development plans
  • Recognition improves portability of the Certificate

Why Post-Secondary Recognition?

We have decided to focus on post-secondary recognition for several reasons. To begin, there is currently no widely recognized professional recognition of eLearning management competencies. Professional bodies that we have approached have generally not been very responsive to the idea of professional recognition in this area. That recognition that does exist tends to be more technical in nature (e.g. certifying learning management systems as opposed to people). Accrediting bodies often have difficulty adjusting their assessment systems to innovative online programs like ours (e.g. “Can we visit your classroom?”).

Post-secondary institutions have the most rigorous processes for assessing the pedagogical quality of our offering. They have pre-existing processes for evaluating programs like ours at a very high level. Moreover, these institutions are leaders in online learning.

Most importantly, we want to ensure that recognition is linked to opportunities for lifelong learning for our learners. Accrediting bodies often have no program offerings to build on the credential. For us, a credential is merely a testament to learning: it’s not an end point, it’s a milestone. Links with existing post-secondary programs allow our learners to continue to build on their learning.

Recognition for eLearn Campus

We are pleased to announce that we have negotiated recognition agreements with accredited post-secondary institutions. This will enhance the currency of your eLearn Campus Certificate in eLearning Management and allow you to pursue continuing degree and certificate opportunities with other post-secondary institutions without replicating your eLearn Campus learning. You can also use this recognition as a form of third-party accreditation of our program.

We have negotiated three recognition agreements that will be of interest to our learners.
